Mora Murri Pierri


Mora Murri was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1979. She received her bachelor's degree in Biology in 2005 from the University of Malaga, Spain.
She worked as a PhD student in the IMABIS Foundation at the "Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Victoria" in Malaga. During her predoc research, she was initially focused on the role that oxidative stress plays in several chronic disorders such as obesity, diabetes, bronchiectasis and sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome. In these studies, she performed her analysis of inflammation and angiogenesis in insulin resistant disorders.  Additionally, she has applied non-targeted proteomic techniques and analysis of microbiota to the study of diabetes.
In January 2012, she started as a Sara Borrell postdoc fellow at the IRYCIS Institute, Ramon y Cajal Hospital in Madrid. Her postdoctoral research focused on the study of the etiopathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome, studying circulating microRNAs and markers of oxidative stress.
